Comer Wins Second Term In Congress

First District Congressman James Comer will return to United States House of Representatives for a second term.

Comer easily defeated Murray Democrat Paul Walker by garnering nearly 69 percent of the votes across the first district. Walker picked up 31 percent of the votes.

Comer won his first term in office in November of 2016 and was sworn in to replace Congressman Ed Whitfield the following Monday. Comer filled the remainder of Congressman Whitfield’s term before being sworn in a second time in January 2017.
