Lyon County officials are working to see how they can partner with the state after Governor Matt Bevin announced last month the commonwealth had awarded its first fish house contract to Kentucky Fish Center, LLC in Wickcliffe.

Judge-Executive Wade White tells the News Edge he recently met with the Fish Center’s owner, Angie Yu, her manager James Story, the chairman of the Eddyville Riverport and Kentucky Fish and Wildlife about the new funding will be coming in to take care of the extra five cents that will be paid to fishermen. In addition, he says they discussed ways Lyon County could be a part of what the state is doing through the Fish House Center.

Judge White also says donations continue to come into the Carp Harvest Fund. He says they received a donation last week after a seminar presentation about the Asian carp problem in Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake.
