A Heritage Christian Academy senior is a recent winner in the Wendy’s High School Heisman Scholarship competition.
According to a release from Wendy’s, Allie Maternowski was named a School Winner. Nearly 42,000 high school scholar-athletes graduating in 2019 put their name in the hat, with only 7,500 being named School Winners. School Winners will continue to compete for the chance to become State Finalists, State Winners, National Finalists or National Winners.
Wendy’s says National Finalists will receive a $1,000 college scholarship and one male and female National Winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship and a trip to New York City to attend the Heisman Trophy Trust’s annual college Heisman award broadcast on Saturday, December 8, 2018.
