Police say a medical condition may have led to a single-vehicle wreck on Eagle Way Bypass at Jerry Claiborne Way Sunday morning.

The accident report says 18-year old Skylar Lewis of Hopkinsville was driving westbound on the bypass when the car left the road, traveled through the median and then went into the eastbound lanes and hit a fence in the area on Jerry Claiborne Way. The car then left the roadway, traveled through the grass field and through the parking lot and then traveled into another grass area and hit a section fo the chain link fence behind the Stadium of Champions. Police say the vehicle continued on through the field and hit a section of chain link fence on the south side of the stadium before coming to a complete stop.

Police indicate Lewis wasn’t hurt in the wreck but has a history of seizures, which they believe caused the accident. She was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center as a precautionary measure.
