Pennyrile Electric is warning members of another scam in the area. Officials say they were notified by a member Monday morning that someone came to their door and claimed to be with the power company. The individual then said the member owed $75 to keep their lights on.
Pennyrile Electric officials say they do not collect money in the field, and customers should not give out personal information. They caution members to be especially protective of your social security number, account number, bank and credit card numbers, and driver’s license number.
