Martin Awarded Presidential Volunteer Award From Junior Achievement

A Pembroke man was awarded a Presidential award during the Christian County Public School’s Eye Opener breakfast Tuesday morning.

Dan Douglas, President of the Western Kentucky Chapter of Junior Achievement presented the President’s Volunteer Service Award to Pennyroyal Hospice Director Kelly Martin. Douglas says Martin has made a tremendous impact on youth in Christian County along with the Junior Achievement organization.

Douglas adds Junior Achievement teaches children the financial responsibility before they enter high school. Martin says he loves children and will continue to work with schools and the community to help ensure a brighter future for them.

The Presidential Volunteer Service Award was established in 2003 under President George W. Bush. The award gives Presidential recognition to individuals, families, and groups who demonstrate a sustained commitment to volunteer service each year.
