Freudenberg And Stanley Engineered Fastening Recognized

During the Hopkinsville City Council meeting Tuesday night, some volunteers from Freudenberg Filtration Technologies and Stanley Engineered Fastening were recognized for their recent work to help with various projects throughout the community.

A week before the Harvest Festival, Downtown Renaissance Director Holly Boggess says volunteers from Freudenberg helped with a beautification project that included ten landscape beds within Founder’s Square on 9th Street and around the downtown Farmer’s Market.

Boggess says Stanley Engineered Fastening has helped with several different projects the last couple of years, including the 99-year old Sudden Service Station building.

In addition, Boggess notes they also constructed prefabricated trellises at Fred Atkins Park, and they constructed ramps at homes on South Elm Street and West 16th Street.

Mayor Carter Hendricks says they will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony when the Sudden Station is ready to open, which will be restrooms initially. However, in the future, he hopes with Council’s support it will be the first electric-vehicle charging station.

Mayor Hendricks handed out certificates to the volunteers at Freudenberg and Stanley Engineered and thanked them for their hard work to help make improvements to the community.
