Woman Injured In Thursday Skyline Drive Wreck

A Hopkinsville woman was hurt when her vehicle rolled over in a wreck on Skyline Drive Thursday evening.

According to the police report, 52-year old Belinda Cunningham was driving west on Skyline Drive after 5:15 p.m. when her car ran off the right side of the road, hit a curb and a 1500 pound grater blade on private property located at 1010 Skyline Drive, which caused the vehicle to roll one time and land on its roof. Cunningham stated she started she choked on a soda, started coughing violently, then felt lightheaded and may have briefly lost consciousness. An eyewitness also told police the driver appeared to be “slumped over the steering wheel” before she hit the curb.

Cunningham was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for complaints of chest pain and some minor lacerations.

Police say the vehicle sustained severe damage, but the grater blade owned by Roeder Auction Company was not damaged.
