An 18-year old female is facing charges of DUI and promoting contraband after she sideswiped a police vehicle in Hopkinsville Friday night.
Hopkinsville Police report Callie Turner was driving southbound in the 6800 block of Johnson Mill Road shortly after 10:00 p.m. when the sideswipe occurred and damaged the mirrors on both vehicles. Police conducted a traffic stop and say Turner appeared under the influence. Turner reportedly had bloodshot eyes, appeared disoriented and failed field sobriety tests.
Turner was arrested and taken to the Christian County charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs. Once inside the jail, deputy jailers say they found a glass meth pipe with residue during a search. Turner was additionally charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and first-degree Promoting Contraband.
