More details are being released about a fatal tractor-vehicle collision in Todd County Monday.
Kentucky State Police say the accident occurred around 6:50 Monday evening when 69-year-old Aden Coblentz of Guthrie was driving a farm tractor south on Old Railroad Lane. 37-year-old Maurice Smith of Allensville was driving north and attempted to pass the tractor when he hit the rear tire, which caused the tractor to run off the road into a grassy area and hit a ditch line. Coblentz was ejected from the tractor. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Todd County Coroner.
Kentucky State Police are reminding drivers to be aware that harvest season and farmers are going to be on the roadway. Drivers need to be aware of surroundings and know there is a likelihood they may encounter farm equipment on the roadways.
