KICK Start KY Looking To Improve Transportation Infrastructure

Executive Director of Kentuckians for Better Transportation Juva Barber presenting to the Pennyrile Area Development District Board of Directors

Just like numerous states across the nation, Kentucky is looking for ways to improve infrastructure for transportation. Executive Director of Kentuckians for Better Transportation, Juva Barber says their mission statement has been the same for the last 40 years.

She adds they are involved in all modes of transportation across the state.

According to Barber, Kentucky is well on its way to becoming the number one state in the United States for freight handling via air. She says this will occur when the Amazon worldwide cargo hub is finished being constructed at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.

Barber adds Kentucky has done a good job so far on keeping up with infrastructure needs when it comes to transportation, considering the high number of freight that is hauled throughout the state.

She says even though they have done a good job keeping up, many projects still need to be completed, and that’s why they formed the Kentucky Infrastructure Coalition.

Barber presented this information to the Pennyrile Area Development District Board of Directors during their monthly meeting Monday afternoon. Learn more about the KICK Start Kentucky campaign by visiting kickstartky.com.
