A Hopkinsville woman is facing charges after reportedly trying to leave town with a man police were searching for Friday evening.
Hopkinsville Police report 24-year old Amanda Blacksmith was arrested after helping 29-year old Matthew Bowles get a ride to leave Hopkinsville. According to the report, Blacksmith knew Bowles was wanted by police and proceeded to have money brought to her and asked for a ride.
Blacksmith is facing hindering apprehension and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a police K-9 detected drugs in the vehicle. Bowles was wanted for 1st-degree charge of fleeing or evading police and 3rd-degree criminal mischief after running from police on Wednesday when they attempted to serve him with other active warrants. Bowles was also arrested Friday night during the traffic stop on the on ramp for the Pennyrile Parkway at US 68.
