First District Congressman James Comer was presented the National Federal of Independent Business (NFIB) Guardian of Small Business Award Wednesday. This is NFIB’s most prestigious honor bestowed on members of Congress in recognition of their efforts to support small business issues.

According to a release, Comer scored a 100% on key small business votes in the 115th Congress, executing on legislation that relieves financial pressure on small businesses and enables them to grow and to create jobs.

NFIB President and CEO Juanita Duggan says those who earn this recognition in the House of Representatives have been staunch supporters on the issues that are crucial to the success of small business, like tax cuts, regulatory reform, and lower healthcare costs. She adds they are representatives small business owners can count on as advocates in Washington, and they are proud to award these lawmakers the recognition they earned for the 115th Congress.
