Four people were arrested in separate incidents early Tuesday morning for possessing methamphetamine and other offenses.
Around 3:30 Tuesday morning, Hopkinsville Police say they received a call of a reckless driver in the area of Fort Campbell Boulevard and found 56-year old Charles Smith and his wife, 60-year old Mary Smith in the parking lot of McDonald. While speaking to Mr. Smith, officers determined he had an active warrant for his arrest and he was taken into custody. During a search of the vehicle, police reportedly found a small clear plastic baggy of white residue suspected to be methamphetamine in the driver’s seat, along with three used syringes, and two additional plastic baggies of suspected meth.
The couple was booked into the Christian County Jail charged with Possession of Controlled Substance (Meth) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
In a separate arrest, Hopkinsville Police report officers were in the area of DeBow Park for a shots fired call around 1:15 Tuesday morning and reportedly found a vehicle backed into a parking spot and 24-year old Alexander Austin passed out in the driver’s seat and 18-year old Callie Turner passed out in the passenger’s seat. Police say Austin was incoherent and a meth pipe was found in the front seat of the vehicle.
Austin and Turner were arrested and booked into the Christian County Jail. Austin was charged with Public Intoxication – Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Police say when Turner was being booked into the jail they found a small plastic Ziploc baggy containing meth that was concealed inside her bra. Turner was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance (Meth) and 1st Degree Promoting Contraband.
