A passenger in a vehicle was arrested for drug trafficking after a traffic stop on North Main Street in Hopkinsville Thursday morning.

Hopkinsville Police report officers pulled the car over in the 800 block around 10:45 a.m. for expired registration plates. Police say the passenger, 37-year old James Ferrell was taken into custody after officers found a black pouch under the seat where Ferrell was sitting that contained several small plastic baggies with a crystal residue which appeared to be methamphetamine, along with a scale. Police indicate they also found a large sum of cash on Ferrell.

Ferrell was lodged in the Christian County Jail charged with 1st Degree Trafficking in Controlled Substance ( Under 2 Grams of Meth), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
