The Christian County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the woman killed in an ATV accident on Old Madisonville Road Wednesday evening. Deputy Coroner Zach Lamb identified the victim as 37-year old Amy M. Keys of Hopkinsville. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Christian County Sheriff’s Sergeant James Dragoo tells the News Edge the accident occurred when Keys was traveling in the grass between Old Madisonville Road and the railroad tracks and she ran off a hillside. He says she tried to overcorrect and lost control, causing the ATV to flip multiple times down the hill before Keys was ejected.
The Christian County Rescue Squad, Hopkinsville Fire Department EMS, and the Christian County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of the accident near the 7000 block of Old Madisonville Road shortly before 7:25 Wednesday evening and found the overturned ATV and the woman unresponsive.
