Officials broke ground Thursday morning on the new Cadiz Water Treatment Plant that is going to be built in the Interstate 24 Business Park. Cadiz Mayor Todd King says it will provide more water to the city than ever before.

Public Works Director Kerry Fowler adds this plant couldn’t come at a better time.
According to Fowler, the plant will feature the latest technology which will help Cadiz tremendously.

USDA State Director Hilda Legg says they have tried to find as much funding as possible for the project.

According to Legg, the City of Cadiz will receive a $3 million dollar loan and a $734,000 grant to complete the facility through USDA. That brings the total project funding to $9,634,000 which was made possible through multiple partnerships.
