Georgia Man Arrested After Trigg Weekend Pursuit

A Georgia man is facing multiple charges in Trigg and Christian Counties after leading police on a multi-county pursuit over early Saturday morning.

Trigg County Deputy Sheriff Danielle Adams says she was dispatched to Interstate 24 to investigate a vehicle in the eastbound lanes that was reportedly swerving. When Deputy Adams caught up with the vehicle, she activated her lights and siren to get the driver to pull over. The driver, later identified as 65-year-old Donald Outten of Atlanta, continued driving east on I-24, then exited the interstate at exit 73 at Newstead. When Outten got to the end of the exit ramp, he failed to stop and hit the raised median in the middle of the road.

Deputy Adams arrested Outten and charged him with Fleeing and Evading Police, Wanton Endangerment, Reckless Driving, Driving Under the Influence and Tampering with Physical Evidence. He was lodged in the Christian County Jail.
