Child With Local Ties Hit By Car In Lexington

A four-year-old with possible ties to Cadiz sustained life-threatening injuries when hit by a vehicle Saturday in Lexington.

According to Lexington Police the accident occurred on Cooper Drive near Scoville Road around 2:00 Saturday afternoon. The four-year-old boy was standing on the side of the road with his family waiting to cross the street when he was struck by a car driven by 18-year-old Jacob Heil.

The child was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The News Edge has learned the 4-year-old boy is the grandson of a Cadiz man. No details about the child or his family have been released from the Lexington Police Department. He was the only person injured in the wreck.

Heil, the driver of the car, was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence.
