Pennyrile Electric crews are heading to the East Coast to join other line crews to help restore power to those affected by Hurricane Florence.
Spokesman Brent Gilkey says they have about ten volunteers who will be leaving for the East Coast.

He adds the crews will be leaving Saturday morning.

Gilkey tells the News Edge they pay for all the crew’s expenses, which is no cost to Pennyrile Electric customers.

He notes Pennyrile Electric has requested mutual aid in the past, and it’s nice to be able to give back.

Gilkey says the crews will remain on the East Coast until their assistance is no longer needed.
