City Of Hopkinsville Promoting Safe Neighborhoods With New Signs

Hopkinsville Mayor Carter Hendricks announces signs are available with hopes to promote safe neighborhood driving.

According to a release, one free “Drive Like Your Kids Live Here” sign will be given per household. Signs measure 18″ by 24″ and can be picked up at the Public Works Department at 705 North Main Street weekdays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

In order to avoid code violations, residents are reminded to keep signs within their yards and not in a right-of-way. That means signs should be placed behind utility poles and sidewalks.

Mayor Hendricks says this idea was shared by a community member and he appreciates that the community is engaged in coming up with new ways to increase safety in our neighborhoods.
