Trigg County’s Sheriff Is Retiring December 1

Trigg County’s sheriff will be retiring before the end of his term. Sheriff Ray Burnam says he will have 20 years in law enforcement on December 1, which is the date he will retire.

Sheriff Burnam started his law enforcement career with Kentucky State Police in 1998.

After retirement, Sheriff Burnam plans on going back to Murray State University to get his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.

As far as future plans of getting back into law enforcement, Burnam says he has physical limitations now and his doctors have told him he needs to retire. He is having neck surgery on September 21 and adds he will see what happens after the surgical procedure.
