The Christian County Coroner’s Office has released the autopsy results on a Trigg County woman who died Tuesday night after she fell out of a moving vehicle.

Coroner Dorris Lamb tells the News Edge the autopsy determined 49-year old Trina McAllister Akin of Cadiz died of a head injury. The autopsy was conducted Wednesday at the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Madisonville.

Christian County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Detective Captain Chris Miller said Wednesday a preliminary investigation had revealed Akin fell out of a moving Jeep driven by 31-year old Brandon Pickett in the 4100 block of Striped Bridge Road around 10:00 Tuesday night. He stated Akin later died from her injuries in the ambulance while en route to the hospital.

Pickett was arrested on the scene and charged with murder and DUI. He remains lodged in the Christian County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond.
