Princeton Radio Station Remaining Under Local Ownership

Princeton and Caldwell County’s radio station WPKY, The Tiger, will join Ham Broadcasting Company September 1.

Ham Broadcasting President and General Manager Beth Mann announced that Ham Broadcasting has signed a local marketing agreement with the intent to purchase WPKY in Princeton from Tiger Media Group, LLC. The sale is pending approval by the Federal Communications Commission.

Mann says she and her staff are excited to add WPKY.

right-click to download mp3Tiger Media Group partners Kathy and Joe McEnaney, Dann and Jaye Lynn Hughes and Lucinda Hughes purchased WPKY 1580-AM from Commonwealth Broadcasting in 2015. Joe McEnaney says their goal was to save Princeton’s radio station.

Joe adds they were able to purchase WPKY 1580 AM and add a translator that can be heard at 103.3 FM.
