Calloway County Firefighter Hurt In Wreck

The Calloway County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a wreck in which a firefighter was injured when the fire truck he was driving overturned while responding to a call Monday morning.

Sheriff Sam Steger reports deputies responded to the scene of the wreck at 7:15 a.m. on Butterworth Road near Jones Sparkman Road in west Calloway County. According to a news release, William Call of Murray was driving a 2007 Freightliner fire truck while responding non-emergency to the call when the truck left the side of the road and overturned.

Call was transported by ambulance to Murray-Calloway County Hospital where Sheriff Steger says he was treated and released.

Sheriff Steger is conducting the investigation into the accident. He was assisted at the scene by Murray-Calloway County EMS and Calloway County Fire & Rescue.
