Lakes and recreation areas in western Kentucky took home several spots in the Kentucky Living Magazine 2018 Best in Kentucky Awards.
Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area won first place in the Hunting and Fishing category. According to the magazine, Land Between The Lakes has the best hunting, fishing, camping, horse riding, off-highway vehicle driving and environmental-conservation education programs in the state. Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley both tied for second place in that category.
Other awards given to the area include Land Between the Lakes receiving third place for Place for Adventure, and Kentucky Lake receiving third place in the Houseboating Lake category.
