Several hundred well-wishers gathered at the James E. Bruce Convention Center Thursday night to celebrate the 15 year anniversary of the center and see the unveiling of the new logo. That new logo indicates the center will now be known simply as The Bruce.
Board Chairman Darrel Gustafson traced the beginning of the center from the original idea that was introduced at a Chamber of Commerce retreat.

Gustafson said after 15 years, the board thought improvements were needed.

As part of the improvements, there will be an upgrade to the audio-visual and sound systems, plus a new kitchen.

Over the past 15 years, the Bruce has hosted 3,750 events and seen 750,000 people come through the center.
Following the remarks, Gustafson and other board members joined in cutting the birthday cake.
