A Livingston County Circuit Court jury returned a guilty verdict Thursday afternoon against the man charged in the stabbing death of Grant Beckner at the Princeton Elks Lodge last year.

Media reports indicate Joseph “Joey” Anderson was found guilty on one count of manslaughter, instead of murder which was also an option. The jury reportedly recommended a 15-year sentence. He will have to serve 85 percent of the sentence, minus time served.

Anderson was charged with murder by Princeton Police after he and Beckner started arguing inside the Princeton Elks Lodge on April 15, 2017. Police said the argument moved outside to the parking lot were Anderson fatally stabbed Beckner.

Sentencing is scheduled for September 4.
