HCC Student To Serve On KCTCS Board of Regents

A Hopkinsville Community College student was recently elected to the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) Student Government Association (SGA) to represent students on the Board of Regents.

Ricky Shaw attends HCC as well as Murray State University and is working toward a bachelor’s degree in organizational communication, according to a release. Shaw plans to earn a master’s degree and hopes to teach at a KCTCS college. He maintains a 3.3 grade point average and is active in the National Honor Society, National Leadership Society, Student Veterans and the Sustainability. He’s also vice president of the local Lions Club and chair of the district campus clubs. He is 56 years old and has 10 grandchildren.

Shaw will serve a one-year term KCTCS Board of Regent, effective immediately.
