A Hopkinsville woman was arrested early Sunday morning after she allegedly fired a shot at another woman driving a vehicle on North Main Street.

According to a Hopkinsville Police report, Stephanie Gentry pulled into police headquarters on South Virginia Street at a high rate of speed shortly after 3:00 Sunday morning, and while still on the phone with ECC, stated that the car behind her, driven by Brittany Starks had followed her and discharged a firearm at her. Gentry told police that the incident began when she was she was at the residence of Maricio Ramos’, the father of her child, and Starks called and wanted to know him who was over there. As Gentry began to leave, she stated Starks walked in the residence and tried to start a fight but Ramos stopped her and Gentry was able to leave. She got in her car and Starks followed her and allegedly discharged a firearm at Gentry on North Main Street between Glass and Means avenue. Gentry drove to police headquarters and made contact with officers and the vehicle following her drive by.

Officers say they determined where Starks lived and went to her residence with a search warrant and found a Glock 27, along with two magazines and marijuana in her purse, hidden in a laundry basket in her bedroom. Police then went back to the location where Gentry said Starks fired shots at her, and officers reportedly found rounds that matched the firearm located in Starks’ residence.

Starks was taken into custody and lodged in the Christian County Jail charged with 1st Degree Wanton Endangerment, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Possession of Marijuana.
