Elkton Man Charged With Meth Possession

Authorities say a seat belt violation led to a traffic stop that landed an Elkton man behind bars facing DUI and drug possession charges.

During the traffic stop Friday night, Kentucky State Police report 41-year old Charles Hightower was found to be under the influence. While searching the vehicle, troopers reportedly found suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Hightower was booked into the Todd County Detention Center charged with Failure to Wear Seat Belts, DUI, 1st Degree Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Careless Driving.
