A Cadiz man is among eighteen students who signed letters of intent to work at area factories once they finish the HOPFAME program at Hopkinsville Community College (HCC) on Tuesday morning.
Matthew Oliver will work at Huhtamaki three days a week while taking classes at the college the other two days. According to HCC, that schedule allows the students the opportunity to immediately apply higher education concepts to real-world situations. HOPFAME students who complete the program will earn an Associate in Applied Science degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology and Advanced Manufacturing Technician in five consecutive semesters.
HCC says that six students graduated from the first KYFAME (Kentucky Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education) cohort in May 2018.
The other seventeen students signed letters of intent for Brazeway Inc., Douglas Autotech Corporation, Ebonite International, FP International, Metalsa Structural Products, Novelis, T.RAD North America, and TGASK.
