Pennyrile Electric recently participated in the Beautify the Bluegrass campaign. Pennyrile Electric spokesman Brent Gilkey tells the News Edge they decided that Pennyrile State Park needed some improvements.

Pennyrile State Park is an 863-acre park, about 20 miles northeast of Hopkinsville. Gilkey says while visiting with park staff they noticed an area that needed some work done.

Pennyrile Electric went to work leveling out ten different areas and prepared a 6′ by 8′ surface for concrete pavers to be placed to make a level area for the picnic tables. They received lots of help and donations from local businesses.

Beautify the Bluegrass is a statewide campaign aimed to give public use areas some enhancements.
