A Hopkinsville man was arrested after he allegedly fled from police trying to conduct a traffic stop early Monday morning.

Hopkinsville Police report officers observed 32-year old Albert Seabrooks riding a bicycle and disregard the stop sign at West 2nd and South Main streets shortly before 1:20 a.m. When police tried to conduct a traffic stop at the intersection of East 2nd and South Liberty streets, Seabrooks reportedly didn’t stop. Police say when he reached South Campbell and East 2nd Street, he reached into his pocket attempting to get rid of something. Seabrooks then went into a backyard of a business on South Campbell and East 2nd on his bicycle and was found by police hiding in a storage shed in the 700 block of East 3rd Street. Police say they found a hollowed out metal sharpie that contained a brillo pad with burn marks on it that Seabrooks had thrown out of his pocket, which is consistent with crack cocaine use.

Seabrooks was booked into the Christian County Jail charged with 2nd Degree Fleeing or Evading Police On Foot, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Tampering with Physical Evidence and Disregarding a Stop Sign.
