A Hopkinsville man was flown to a Nashville hospital Monday evening after the bicycle he was riding was hit by a car on Walnut Street. Hopkinsville Police say 51-year old Michael Bussell was believed to be westbound, leaving the Boys and Girls Club, shortly after 6:30 p.m.
Police say Bussell pulled out into the roadway and was hit by a northbound vehicle on Walnut Street driven by 47-year old Joe Taylor, of Hopkinsville. Police believe Bussell was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
He was lifeflighted to Skyline Medical Center for treatment.
