Soldier Identified As Motorcyclist Killed In Clarksville Crash

Authorities have released the identity of the motorcyclist killed in a crash on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard in Clarksville Monday morning. Clarksville Police Sergeant Charles Gill says the victim was 23-year old Austin McWhite, a Fort Campbell soldier.

Police report the wreck occurred in front of Governor Square Mall when a southbound SUV driven by 77-year old Mary Lancaster of Pembroke tried to turn left onto South Hampton Place and McWhite was unable to avoid a collision. Sergeant McGill says McWhite died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

Clarksville Police are continuing to investigate the fatal collision.
