A former Princeton Mayor and former minister are being honored as the Grand Marshals of the Black Patch Festival Parade. According to the Princeton Times Leader, the Princeton Optimist Club named former Mayor Gale Cherry and Reverend Cliff Jones to lead the annual parade that will take place Friday, September 7.

Cherry served as Mayor of Princeton from 2007 until 2014. She also served as one of the main organizers of the Night Rider Tour that is put on by the Caldwell County Historical Society. Cherry’s civic involvement includes an active membership in the Princeton Rotary Club and a number of other organizations.

Jones is being honored for his 26 years as pastor of First Christian Church in Princeton. He retired from the pastorship earlier this year. Jones was also involved in the Caldwell County Ministerial Association and continues to serve as a member of the New Congregation Committee of the Christian Church of Kentucky. And Jones is a member of the Princeton Kiwanis Club.

The Blackpatch Festival, that is sponsored by the Princeton Optimist Club, will begin with the Parade Friday, September 7, and continue Saturday, September 8, in downtown Princeton.
