The Eddyville community is mourning the loss of Mayor Nancy Slaton who passed away suddenly Friday morning. In a statement to the News Edge Lyon County Judge Executive Wade White says that Slaton has served the citizens of Eddyville since 2011 as mayor.
He went on to say that Slaton served a greater purpose beyond her elected office as she was active in her church and participated weekly in a women’s prison ministry. White adds that Mayor Slaton will be missed greatly.
Slaton was 64-years old.
