A Herndon man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after authorities say he attacked a man and woman in a garage at a home on Lafayette Road.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office responded to an assault in progress in the 10,000 block shortly after 1:20 p.m. where there was a report of an unresponsive male on the scene. Deputies say 30-year old Uriah Bush was taken into custody after a verbal altercation turned physical and he punched and kicked Sean Erlinger of Herndon when he tried to intervene when Bush pinned Andria Cook against the wall with a recliner and she yelled for help. Deputies say Erlinger had several knots and scratches on his face and head and at some point he lost consciousness during the altercation. Cook also stated that Bush grabbed her thumb and index finger and bent them back causing pain and possible injury.

Authorities say the altercation was over some tools that Bush had pawned.

Both victims were given first aid at the scene by medical personnel and deputies indicate they initially refused medical transport to the hospital but later stated they would to Jennie Stuart Medical Center.

Deputies ran a check on Bush, which showed he had an active warrant out of Stewart County, Tennessee and it was confirmed they would extradite.

Bush was lodged in the Christian County Jail charged with 2nd Degree Assault, and 4th Degree Assault With Minor Injury.
