Man Charged With Trafficking Synthetic Spice

Authorities say a man wanted on a warrant for theft of a lawnmower is facing an additional charge after officers determined he was trafficking drugs.

Hopkinsville Police report officers served the warrant on 34-year old Jarvis Caldwell at a home in the 100 block of South Vine Street shortly before 2:10 Sunday afternoon. During a search of Caldwell, police reportedly found several clear plastic baggies of synthetic spice in the pocket of his shorts.

Caldwell was arrested and booked into the Christian County Jail charged with Trafficking in Synthetic Drugs, and the complaint warrant for Theft By Unlawful Taking Under $500. According to the warrant, the theft charge stems from May 29th when Caldwell allegedly stole a woman’s lawnmower from her backyard. Police say the victim was able to provide surveillance video showing Caldwell and another individual entering the property and leaving with her lawnmower. Police indicate the video was posted on the HPD Facebook page where other individuals identified the suspect in the video as Caldwell.
