Workman Named Planters Bank President

Kelley Workman, Planters Bank President

The Planters Bank Board of Directors announced Thursday that Kelley Workman has been promoted to President of Planters Bank and Leigh Durden has been named as Chief Credit Officer.

Prior to her recent appointment as President of Planters Bank, a release says Workman served as Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer at the bank. She is a native of Hopkinsville and a graduate of Christian County High School, and graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.B.A. in Finance and Marketing, as well as a the Graduate School of Banking of the South at LSU.

Workman is also a 1989 graduate of Leadership Hopkinsville-Christian County and a 2011 graduate of Leadership Kentucky. She currently serves as Chairman of the Hopkinsville Surface and Stormwater Utility, and recently served as Chairman of the Jennie Stuart Medical Center Board of Trustees. She has been the Treasurer of the University Heights Board of Trustees for approximately 16 years, and she is a member of First Baptist Church.

Leigh Durden, Planters Bank Chief Credit Officer

Durden joined Planters Bank in 1999 and prior to her appointment she most recently served as Senior Vice President Corporate Banking. She is also a native of Hopkinsville, a graduate of Hopkinsville High School, and graduated from Austin Peay State University in 1997 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Accounting. She graduated from the Graduate School of Banking of the South at LSU in 2009. In addition, she is a graduate of Leadership Hopkinsville and Leadership Clarksville. She served as a member of the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and as the Board Treasurer for Saint Luke’s Free Clinic from 2011 through 2017. Durden currently serves on the Renaissance Design Review Board and is a Board member of the Solid Waste Enterprise Board.

As Planters Bank prepares to move beyond the $1 billion in total assets mark, CEO Elizabeth McCoy says in the release the Board of Directors is pleased to announce these promotions. She says they are delighted with these promotions, and she knows they will be instrumental in directing the bank in the coming years.
