Man Wanted In Deputy’s Murder Captured

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is reporting Steven Wiggins who was wanted in connection to the murder of a Dickson County Sheriff’s deputy has been captured in Hickman County after being on the run for three days.

TBI officials have been looking for Wiggins since Wednesday after Sgt. Daniel Baker responded to a suspicious vehicle call around 7:00 that morning on Sam Vinyard Road. After the deputy failed to check in, authorities tracked him and his vehicle via GPS, and Sgt. Baker was found deceased inside the car.

Based on video evidence and other information developed at the scene, authorities determined the individual responsible for Sgt. Baker’s death was Wiggins.

The TBI also arrested 31-year old Erika Castro-Miles of Dickson on Wednesday and charged her with 1st Degree Murder. Authorities say Miles is an acquaintance of Wiggins.
