Man Facing Numerous Charges After Madisonville Pursuit

Police say a Madisonville man wanted in connection to an investigation in Webster County was arrested on numerous charges after a pursuit Monday night.

Madisonville Police report officers responded to West McLaughline Avenue for a disturbance complaint involving 36-year old Chester Goff. Police say an active bolo, or be on the look out, has already been issued for Goff regarding an active investigation in Webster County. Officers located Goff near the scene and attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but he failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. During the pursuit, police say Goff traveled to Griffin Auto Sales where he jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, Goff reportedly was taken into custody in the backyard of a neighboring residence.

According to police, Goff was transported to the emergency room at Baptist Health to be medically cleared for incarceration. He was lodged in the Hopkins County Jail charged with 1st Degree Fleeing or Evading Police in a Motor Vehicle, 1st Degree Wanton Endangerment, 2nd Degree Fleeing or Evading Police on Foot, Resisting Arrest, 1st Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Tampering With Physical Evidence, Receiving Stolen Property Under $500 and a couple of traffic related offenses from the pursuit.
