A self-employed Hopkinsville man has been appointed by the Kentucky Education commissioner to fill the Christian County school board seat vacated recently by Geoff Bailey.

At the conclusion of the board meeting Thursday night, Superintendent Mary Ann Gemmill announced Jeff Moore as the commissioner’s appointment.

Moore tells the News Edge he’s looking forward to being a team member on the Board of Education, and looking at the things they need to accomplish. He feels everyone should attend a board meeting.

As far as what changes he would like to see occur, Moore says he needs to first listen and get accustomed to the school board’s activities and operations.

Moore, a Christian County High School graduate, will serve District 1 until the November General Election. He will be sworn in during a ceremony at the June 7th school board workshop meeting.
