The Hopkinsville Police Department will be joining several agencies from across Christian County and Montgomery County, Tennessee on Friday for “Hands Across the Border”.

Public Information Officer Lieutenant Kyle Spurlin says the event is designed to encourage motorists to slow down, buckle up and don’t drink and drive. Each year, he notes HPD participates in this event with the goal of saving lives.

This year, Lt. Spurlin says officers will be conducting high visibility DUI patrols with an emphasis on occupant safety laws as well as a traffic safety checkpoint, which will take place at the Kentucky/Tennessee state line on Fort Campbell Boulevard.
