Traffic Stop On Newstead Road Nets Meth Arrest

State Police say a Tennessee man stopped for speeding on the Newstead Road Monday night was arrested on multiple charges, including DUI and his third or greater offense of meth possession.

Shortly after 9:00pm, Kentucky State Police report a trooper stopped a pickup truck traveling on Newstead Road, west of Hopkinsville, driven by 42-year old Jessie Williams of Big Rock.

Police say an investigation revealed Williams was driving under the influence. During a search of the truck, the trooper reportedly found various pills, drug paraphernalia, and suspected methamphetamine.

Williams was taken into custody and lodged in the Christian County Jail charged with Speeding 08 MPH Over the Limit, DUI, 1st Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd or Greater Offense (Methamphetamine), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Illegal Possession of Legend Drug, and Prescription Controlled Substance Not in Proper Container.
