New Sanctuary Director Discusses Community Support

The new Director of Sanctuary, Inc in Hopkinsville has just been on the job for about a month and an half. Heather Lancaster joined Sanctuary after serving as the Communications Director for the Christian County Public Schools.

She says working with the United Way opened the door for her to take the Sanctuary position when it became available.

During her time as Director, Lancaster says she has seen exactly how much the community cares and supports Sanctuary.

right-click to download mp3Lancaster says the organization worked with almost one thousand victims in the 8 counties in the Pennyrile in 2017.

right-click to download mp3Those victims are assisted with a staff that is specialized. She says they are especially proud of their children’s advocate.

right-click to download mp3Lancaster says Sanctuary currently has a staff of 33 full and partime workers. The facility is open 24/7 to serve victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse. Sanctuary is a United Way of the Pennyrile Agency.
