A Hopkinsville man wanted on several warrants, including in connection to a recent shooting in Cadiz, is facing more offenses after he was arrested by police on Colonel Drive over the weekend.

Hopkinsville Police say an officer stopped 21-year old Jaquaveion Greenwade just before 2:30 Sunday morning in the 100 block because he was walking down the wrong side of the road. He allegedly told officers he was 16 years old and gave them a false name. However, the officers realized he was a suspect in a recent shooting in Cadiz. When police went to handcuff Greenwade, he fled through down an active roadway, through unlit backyards, and jumped a fence. Greenwade was apprehended by officers and reportedly found in possession of a plastic bag containing marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Greenwade was lodged in the Christian County Jail charged with Hitchhiking/Disregarding Traffic Regulations By Pedestrian, Fleeing or Evading Police on Foot, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was also served a warrant out of Christian County for Probation Violation for a misdemeanor offense.

In addition, Greenwade was served three warrants for Failure to Appear out of Trigg County. One warrant is for a charge of 1st Degree Assault in connection to the shooting of 22-year old Franklin Keeling, of Cadiz on March 23. Kentucky State Police say he assaulted Keeling and then forced him to drive to a road where he was shot two times. State Police say Keeling then drove himself to Trigg County Hospital and was then flown to a Nashville hospital for treatment. Keeling reportedly identified Greenwade as the man that assaulted and shot him.

The second and third warrants out of Trigg County for Failure to Appear are for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and 4th Degree Assault.
