Lt. Governor Talks About Kentucky Derby Week

Kentucky Lieutenant Governor Jenean Hampton says Derby Week offers a great opportunity to show off the state and market the Commonwealth to prospective industrial candidates.

Hampton was with the News Edge Monday morning on the AT&T Morning Line from Churchill Downs. She says it is a great week for the state.

Kentucky Oaks is the race for 3-year old fillies held each year on the Friday before the Kentucky Derby. The Lieutenant Governor has the honor of presenting the trophy to the winner. Hampton says it is also a time to bring awareness to breast cancer.

This is the third year that Lieutenant Governor Hampton has participated in the Derby Week Activities.
