Todd Fiscal Court Appoints Interim Judge Executive

A long-serving magistrate has been appointed as the interim Todd County Judge Executive after Daryl Greenfield announced Friday he was resigning from the seat, effective immediately. Todd County Standard Publisher Ryan Craig says District 5 Magistrate Jimmy Turner was appointed by fiscal court members. He notes Turner did not have any opposition in the upcoming primary or general elections.

He says who fills the judge executive seat also depends on the governor.

Craig says Greenfield, who was not running for reelection, stepped down after a contentious fiscal court meeting last Friday.

Another reason, Craig notes Greenfield decided to resign was because of what he felt was some special interest push back.

Putting this in perspective, Craig adds, you have to understand over a decade ago the county was borrowing money to pay bills.
